The Animal Jam Mission: Sequel to Pouncing’s Journey
I woke up in the room I stayed in at the palace. There were gold, glowing flowers on the mossy stone wall. I grabbed my helmet, sword, and ankle cuffs off the chest by the scrolls. I opened the gold door of my room and trudged down the hall. I had to admit, I was pretty drained of energy even though I just woke up. The gold chamber glittered in the faint sunlight from the window. Mira was in the garden-like area of the temple, planning future renovations for Jamaa with Zios. I walked down another chamber, just to find….. Wait. Was that….. NO WAY! The five guardians were standing right in front of me. I stuttered, “Are you the real guardians?” “Yes we are, I am Cleo the Snow Leopard. And you are…” I couldn’t believe it. ” Cleverstar, Pouncing Cleverstar.” I announced. The Puma, who was very frisky, leaped out from behind Cleo shouted, “Hi! I’m Wisteria. I’m kind of hyper sometimes. You can call me Wisty for short, though.” I was a little surprised, having a 100 pound Puma lunging at me. The Bison, who wore a headdress then walked forward. He said in a stern voice, “You are very wise, young wolf.I’m Cheif” Me?Wise? Umm, I don’t think so. The lizard was next, who was more like a Chameleon, she changed colors. She said, “Congratulations, young wolf. You are very special.” The Eagle, whose wings had a huge span gently flew over to me and he said, “This scrawny little wolf is the one!? How is this possible???” That made me ANGRY. I crossed my arms, made that super fierce face when I’m mad, and said, “Really? Me scrawny? Just watch me fight you!!!”
BIG mistake. He said fine, but I wanted to re-say what I said earlier, because I’m not scrawny! He started to fight. He took his talons and slashed them across my back. My entire back was slashed open in three huge lines. Cleo jumped up at him and pinned him to the ground. I ran down the hall, blood dripping from my back. I ran into my room and grabbed my purple, worn out blanket. I ran to Mira and showed her my wounds. She took some kind of fancy jasmine and palm olive medicine and put it on my back. It stung, but felt better. She sat down and said she needs to talk to me. She explained that the evil phantoms had taken over Jamaa and the refugee animals were at a camp. She said go save the animals before its to late. I packed a small turtleshell’s worth of food, and canteen of water to sling over my shoulder. I ran off into the sunset, wondering what would happen to me?
